History:The Skin-Walkers are genetically advanced human beings from a parallel universe. Elysium, their home planet, was much like Earth however, not as technologically advanced and there was a wide range of life styles. Some of the Skin-Walkers still lived like the nomadic tribes while others lived like 20th century human beings and a whole spectrum of in-between life styles. Their technology was only as advanced as the Earth’s early 20th century inventions. This included things like instant coffee and colored pictures. Life on Elysium was relatively peaceful, granted from time to time a fight would break out between inhabitants but they only lasted a few months at most with little to no fatalities. Then the dark plague happened in the year 2025 and life quickly was out of balance for the Skin-Walkers. No longer was their planet peaceful as a new disease broke out like a wild fire. This disease turned the average Skin-Walker into a beast, one in which could not control its shifts or actions. They infected would attack anyone in sight and those attacked either died from the attack or would contract the infection. Those who weren’t infected quickly set off in a space shuttle to find a new livable planet.
Thirty Skin-Walkers had managed to make it off Elysium, some with their families and others alone. Their ages ranged from elders to young, unborn children. The group traveled for billions of miles before setting eyes on Earth, a planet that looked like their own. Nine years of travel and the Skin-Walkers finally had a new planet. The group of 30 was now a group of 35 and still expecting more to come. They touched down on Earth on January 1, 2033 but their space shuttle sunk into the mercy ocean depth. The Humans that inhabited Earth had only seen the shuttle and naturally those who did not believe in extraterrestrial life quickly brushed it off. However, it wasn’t till January 15, 2033 in which two Skin-Walkers found town and started to scavenge for supplies. They only showed themselves as animals, two raccoons and if it hadn’t been for an accident their existence on Earth would have never been discovered. The male Skin-Walker, Lewis Zarmati, was hit by a motor cycle and the impact caused him to change back to his Human form. Considered a threat the Government quickly exterminated him and then turned his body over to science to figure out what exactly he was. The female Skin-Walker, Charlette Zarmati, returned back to the forest and told the 32 Skin-Walkers what had happened to her husband. None of the Humans realized that there were more of these mutants about and the remaining Skin-Walkers went their separate ways but decided to keep their shifting abilities to a minimum. Some of the braver Skin-Walkers moved to town while others dispersed into the forest.
Years went by and the Skin-Walkers still living among the Humans in secrecy. Everything seemed fine and their numbers remained stable, a few Skin-Walkers had been lost but a few were born. However on a warm summer day on May 30, 2040 a bunch of mischievous Skin-Walker children, teenagers, and adults plotted their revenge for the fallen Skin-Walkers that had been exterminated. The next day the dispersed into town as dangerous creatures and attacked innocent human beings; some had been young children while others full grown adults who put up a fight. By the following day a death count of 15 humans and 8 Skin-Walkers, totaling for a death of 23 lives lost. After that day some Humans formed a fear or hatred for these monstrous, strange human beings and others only because more interested in them. Non-the-less the Government put out a cash bounty on the Skin-Walkers heads. Once again those Skin-Walkers who survived started to live in fear, some headed deeper into the forest while others made sure to keep their shifting powers hidden so they could continue living in town. The rebellious Skin-Walkers who lived had quickly been out casted from the rest of the group in order to keep the innocent alive. Now 8 years later, the Skin-Walker population has grown powerful but they still live in fear and hope that someday they can all live in peace.
Anatomy and Apperance :Skin-Walkers are a lot like the Humans that live on planet Earth. In fact they are just an advanced human being. They share all the same races, skeletal build, hair and eye colors. The only difference would be in the Skin-Walkers blood. Their blood contains traces of animals in which the Skin-Walkers shift into. However, the Skin-Walkers can receive blood from any creature as long as its been purified. It is still unknown whether a Skin-Walker can donate blood to a Human on Earth.
Special Abilities:Skin-Walkers have the ability to shift into other animals, most of the time they pick two or three creatures but have the capability to shift into all animals. Now some of the newer Skin-Walkers have learned to shift into humans, however, they can only shift into another human of their on biological gender. These new Skin-Walkers still have the ability to change into other animals as well. All Skin-Walkers have heightened sense because of their shifting abilities which provide to be useful when in a survival situation. There is no special circumstance required for a Skin-Walker to shift; all they have to do is think of a creature, picture it in their mind and then their body will naturally change. The first shift a Skin-Walker goes through will always be the most painful but any shift after that will vary. Some Skin-Walkers feel little to no pain while others feel excruciating pain that last for several minutes after a shift. Depending on the size of the creature a Skin-Walker imagines itself to be will determine what happens to their clothes. Any large animals will result in the Skin-Walkers clothes to tear slightly or completely half. Small animals will only cause the Skin-Walker to be hidden among the fabric until they emerge in their new form. A shift will last until the Skin-Walker decides to shift back, fall asleep, loose energy or have been hurt so bad they can no longer focus on staying in their shifted form.
